Anthony, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, and the Iroquois matriarchs. They each played an important role in carving out a new future for all of us in this fiercely beautiful region. These powerful women fought for women’s rights, women’s suffrage, the abolition of slavery, and overall gender equality. Their actions created a ripple effect in society that we still feel today. As the epicenter of the women’s rights movement, the Finger Lakes region celebrates women both past and present.
