About Brave Women FLX
Dignified. Relentless. Compassionate. Unapologetic. Heroic.
These are just some of the words that describe the women who shattered the glass ceiling for those who came after them. Abolishing slavery, securing women’s right to vote, carving a path for female entrepreneurship and equality, and taking a stand to promote justice for all – these movements were started centuries ago with some of our nation’s most courageous and visionary women at the forefront. Women like Harriet Tubman, Dr. Elizabeth Blackwell, Susan B. Anthony and Jikonsaseh.
You probably recognize some of these names, and there may be some you don’t. But one thing is for certain: the impact of their tenacity is still shaking the ground today. A commonality they shared is that New York State’s Finger Lakes region was their stomping grounds – and we invite you to walk along the trails they blazed.
Brave Women FLX encourages visitors and residents to celebrate the forward-thinking female pioneers of the Finger Lakes by exploring the historic landmarks and destinations that tell their stories, while supporting the region’s modern-day businesswomen and entrepreneurs and unleashing your inner brave woman. Experience all that the region has to offer each season – from outdoor activities like hiking and cross-country skiing, to wellness and cultural adventures like a day at the spa or museum, to supporting woman-owned breweries and wineries, inns and B&Bs, boutiques and more.
You’ll find yourself enlightened, filled with pride and maybe even inspired to blaze your own trail.
